I graduated in February 1965 from Cleveland and married a week later to my wonderful husband of 50 years, George.  After taking several business classes in high school,  I went to work as a secretary at Redken Laboratories.  My son, Dan, was born on February 14, 1966 (such a great present!).  Later that year,  I went back to work at an aircraft parts manufacturer, until my daughter, Tami, was born, December 6, 1967. We started a company named Preferred Professional Security and I was chosen as the secretary.  We had the business until 2005.  My son has become a Detective for the Ventura County Sheriff's Department.  It's hard to believe he retires in six more years. Boy does time fly by!.  My daughter became a grammar school teacher and now teaches at the grammar school she attended in Simi Valley.  She has 12 years until retirement.  We have six grandchildren.  Cindy Malone lives in Boise, Idaho and is the head coach for Womans' Softball for Boise University (she's due with our first great grandchild this month).  Christina Ball lives in Beaverton, Oregon and is the Event Manager at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Course.  Amanda Hawes is an 8th grade teacher at Valley View in Simi Valley teaching Calculus (plus she just earned her Masters in Math).  Jordyn Wagner just received her teaching credentials to teach grammar school (she should hear this month if she gets the job she's hoping for). In the meantime,  she is doing a great job as a tutor and substitute teacher.   Jake Wagner is in the process of getting his electrical engineering license and Danny works for UPS.  We are so proud of them all.

During the years I worked as a waitress, a grocery clerk and then finally in real estate.  When the market started to crash in the late 70's,  I became the assistant manager of Century 21 LaCarre in Simi Valley.  In 1981, my boss recommended me to the Corporate Office in Woodland Hills .  I worked there for 20 years as an Executive Secretary to the Owners and Regional Director.  When they closed our office,  I worked from home as a party planner and Real Estate Licensing Coordinator for the new Century 21 Corporate offices in Irvine. My husband retired in 1993 from the Los Angeles Police Department as a Detective III and went into executive security.  We moved to Oregon when my husband retired (for the second time) in 2005 but only lasted there for eight years and couldn't take the cold any longer.  We now reside in Buckeye, Arizona (right on the edge of Surprise, Arizona).  We've been here for two years and couldn't be happier.  We love to travel, especially cruise!  We have been fortunate enough to travel to Hawaii (land & cruise) a few times, Mexico (land & cruise), several times. Tahiti (land & cruise) , Panama Canal (cruise), Alaska (land & cruise. We also cruised the Caribbean a few times plus several of the United States and Canada.  We are looking forward to exploring more of the United States, South America, Australia, New Zealand and hopefully Europe when the world settles down!
